The team is led by Douglas Davids. Douglas has over 30 years’ experience in the fields of accounting and investment management dealing with a wide range of clients including institutional clients, state owned enterprises, investment consultants and retail investors. His investment expertise include listed investments (including equities, bonds, derivatives, hedge fund investing and money market investing), developmental infrastructure investing, impact investing as well as environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing.

Qualifications

Douglas holds two masters’ degrees, both from Stellenbosch University. His masters’ degrees are a Masters in Development Finance majoring in Corporate Finance and Infrastructure Finance as well as an MBA majoring in International Finance and Emerging Market Finance. He further holds a B.Com Honours degree in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management from the University of Cape Town majoring in Economics, Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management. His other degrees are a B.Compt Honours degree from the University of South Africa majoring in Accounting, Tax and Auditing as well as a B.Com degree from the University of the Western Cape majoring in Accounting and Tax.
His continued professional development includes the successful completion of his Financial Sector Conduct Authority FAIS RE 1, RE 3 and RE 5 regulatory examinations. Douglas holds professional membership with the South African Institute of Charted Accountants as an associate member. He is also a member of the South African Investment Analyst Society as well as being a member of the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals.
